Swami Dharmananda is assistant director of the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Farm. He is a faculty of the Sivananda Institute of Health and Yoga (SIHY) and is one of the main teachers of Yoga Philosophy and Meditation at the Ashram. Swami Dharmananda is C-IAYT certified and teaches classical Yoga techniques to address stress and lifestyle issues as well as the deeper causes of stress and ill-health on the physical, psychological, and spiritual levels of our being.
About Me: I have dedicated my life to classical Yoga practice with the clear mission to share the Yoga teachings with anyone who has a sincere desire to learn and apply the teachings in their daily life. The classical Yoga teachings of Swami Sivananda and Swami Vishnudevananda are geared toward physical, psychological, and spiritual health– guiding each person to a more fulfilling life, becoming more tuned to nature and our own true Self. Adopting a regular Yoga practice leads to greater joy, connection, increased energy, and a greater sense of purpose.
I have been living at the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Farm in Grass Valley, CA for 12 years, living and practicing daily. I have completed the 500-hour Teacher Training with Sivananda Yoga in 2008 as well as many certification courses that include: Yoga of Recovery (100 hours); Vedanta and Silence Course (100 hours); Sadhana Intensive.
I am on the faculty team of the Sivananda Yoga Health Educator Training, a 2-year, 800-hour, IAYT accredited program.
