I became involved in yoga in the 1970’s,but seriously began living it over ten years ago and brought it into my social work teaching and practice on self-care and dealing with mental health issues. I use it in research with older adults with dementia, those with cancer and adults and children with trauma and stress.
I have a PhD and LMSW in social work and received my yoga teacher training from East-West Natural Healing and the Himalayan Institute. I have additional training with LifeForce Yoga Therapist Level II, a Certified Integrative Yoga for Seniors Instructor, a Certified Ayurvedic Yoga Specialist and a Relax and Renew Restorative teacher Level 1. I am a C-IAYT and serve on the board of the International Association of Yoga Therapists.
