About Me

Melissa Adylia Calasanz is an IAYT-Certified Yoga Therapist and Movement Educator specializing in the care and prevention of injuries; with a special interest in helping people who are navigating life with stress, chronic pain, and discomforts associated with arthritis and pelvic floor dysfunction.

At Kaiser Permanente, Downey, Melissa works as a Certified Yoga Therapist/Lifestyle & Momement Educator. In 2018, Melissa created (and continues to teach) a 12-Week Yoga Therapeutics for Chronic Back Pain program, and teaches weekly Physicians Wellness classes that include Yoga, Tai Chi, and other Therapeutic and Mindful Moment Modalities.

In addition to her work with Kaiser Permanente, Melissa enjoys teaching public Therapeutic Inspired Gentle Yoga Classes and Workshops to diverse groups, including people with chronic pain, cancer, arthritis, stress, insomnia, back injuries, total joint replacements, Parkinson’s disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and Compassionate Self-Care classes for patient’s and caregivers.

It’s Melissa’s passion to help clients to become their best health care advocate by facilitating open lines of communication with their mind, body, spirit, breath, and intention. She encourages people to nurture their inner wisdom, lending to a better mind/body relationship, and improving relationships with friends, coworkers, and loved ones, as well as a person’s integrative health and wellness team.
