About Me

I run group classes for people looking to enhance their life through yoga and offer private tuition, small groups, families and online sessions for those who have concerns about being “in a class” so they can get up to speed, or those with specific health needs such as breast and other cancers, multiple sclerosis, neuro muscular-skeletal injuries, ME /CFS/ Fibromyalgia, back pain, arthritis, stress/insomnia, high blood pressure, depression and anxiety.

My approach to Yoga

If you’ve never tried yoga or are looking for a fresh new approach then please try my class. It doesn’t matter what your level of ability or age is, or if you have injuries. I will make sure it’s right for you and will feel benefits from your very first class. The style is a mix of traditional yoga, Pilates and modern functional exercise science.

I have observed for over three decades that the many people who attend a regular class achieve unique benefits that are just not possible from other forms of exercise. Yoga classes are a great investment in your body that has to carry you through to old age.

I started practicing Yoga in the seventies and has been teaching for over 30 years. I was very lucky as my first Teaching Dipolma was with Yoga for Health, now considered one of the first in its field for Remedial and breathe work. I later completed the Yoga for Health Foundation remedial training, 1, 11 and 111.  I am a Certified Yoga Therapist and a Remedial Pilates teacher and worked extensively with Physios and Chiro rehabilitation in the U.K. I have a particular interest in managing complex persistent pain conditions and love working with pregnancy and post natal ladies.

Living in Brampton (UK) until 2007, there was an active RAF base and I worked with large groups of fit service men and women.  I am therefore happy to work with both men & women, all ages and abilities.

I continue to undertakes continuing professional development training each year and since 1992 have been a student of Swami Dharmanada Saraswati Maharaj.  Under swamiji’s guidance I have been able to continue to explore and develop yoga, meditation and healing practices, incorporating the physical and spiritual aspect into my life.

My programs & services

I see Yoga therapy as a holistic and gentle approach where the teacher selects appropriate therapeutic tools from the full wealth of yoga practices. The whole individual is assisted rather than focusing on the condition. Its about helping individuals attain their full potential, reducing stress and bringing more ease, resilience thus promoting healing and improving health – balanced life.

Yoga Therapy helps to develop better body alignment if you have joint or back pain, encourages a quietening of the mind to help deal with stress or anxiety or to find space inside where we can begin to feel more comfortable and peaceful with yourself.

I specialise in empowering clients to remove the obstacles to their ultimate wellbeing and offer supportive teaching to help them keep well, make changes to their lifestyle and promote personal and spiritual growth. Helping facilitating lasting change in their lives, using:

posture work
conscious breathing techniques
visualisations
meditative practices
simple vocal techniques
lifestyle and dietary advice based on ayurveda
guided self-enquiry

I tailors a practice to an individual for a particular condition and choose what is right for a person – the only prerequisites are that the clients is ready and willing to learn.

I work with healthy people looking to enhance their life through yoga and also offers specialist tuition to those with specific health needs such as breast and other cancers, multiple sclerosis and other neurological conditions, ME/CFS/Fibromyalgia, back pain, arthritis, stress/insomnia, high blood pressure and depression and anxiety. I am also a pregnancy and post natal yoga teacher and have been practicing and exploring Yoga and Meditation since 1976 and teaching for over 40 years.
