I am a life-long teacher & learner who moved from the academic world to fitness & yoga. Mother to three grown sons, grandmother to two, it delights me that both grandkids learned to walk by doing a walking down dog first! My favorite personal practices are aerial yoga and yin. I love a hot summer day, the sights/sounds/smells/feel of rainstorms, baseball, reading, flowers, and chats with good friends.

The connections & integration of Eastern/Western approaches fascinate me. I teach many different styles of yoga: vinyasa flow, power yoga, multi-level hatha, slow flow, gentle, chair, yin, restorative, seniors, & meditation/mindfulness, and incorporate some Thai & somatic techniques. All of my classes include yoga postures, breathing techniques, connecting mind/body/breath, meditation, appropriate (functional) alignment, current scientific-supported integration of East/West philosophy, and traditional yoga philosophy, with a dose of fun and laughter.
I enjoy working both with group classes and individuals. For therapeutic work with individuals, I ask questions, provide a listening ear, pay attention to their short- & long-term goals, and use all of my yoga training & resources to empower them on multiple levels (koshas). Some of the tools I can use to help clients are: yoga postures from many styles (including restorative), breathing techniques, many types of meditation, yoga nidra, their journaling, essential oils, chakra balancing, Ayurveda, mantra, chanting, visualization, sound, color, & scientific-supported techniques (i.e.: Kirtan Kriya for memory maintenance/Alzheimer’s prevention; Dr. Loren Fishman’s 12 Poses for Osteoporosis).
Good communication and providing an individualized program for each client are very important to me. Empowering clients means that I am simply a temporary guide along their way to being in charge of their own wellness.
