I’m a Yoga Therapist, Yoga Teacher, meditator and owner of Experience Yoga. I’ve been practising hatha yoga for thirty years and teaching for more than fourteen. Over this time I have personally benefited from, and become passionate about, the therapeutic benefits of regular yoga, relaxation and meditation. All the practices of yoga greatly assist me in managing back pain, improving my immunity and respecting the power of my mind and thoughts.
Experience Yoga is a peaceful private studio set in a tranquil Japanese garden where high quality and tailored guidance is offered in hatha yoga (Integral Yoga®), Relax and Renew® (restorative yoga), meditation, Yoga Therapy and therapeutic group sessions.
My intention is to ‘teach’ so that you can learn, which is why my studio, classes and workshops are small. I chose the business name ‘Experience Yoga’ as yoga is an experience, not a bunch of physical moves. I know the importance of standards in practice and ensure my knowledge is evidence-informed and contemporary.
I learn so much about my body, breath, emotions and mind from my own practice. I invite you to understand that yoga includes breath work (pranayama), awareness to the mind (meditation), philosophy (yamas and niyamas) and a balanced lifestyle. You will hear the words breath and mind many times in my studio!
People of all ages, body types, walks of life, professions and dispositions are welcome at the studio. Experience Yoga also facilitates opportunities to create work-life balance by bringing yoga, meditation and well-being courses to the workplace.
